American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

Welcome to AYSO Region 6 San Pedro

Volunteer

It's About What's Good For The Kids

AYSO Region 6 is a volunteer-run organization. Coaches, referees and administrators are volunteers. Parents, neighbors, relatives and friends lend their time and talents so that each child gets a terrific AYSO experience.

AYSO operates in a business manner, but volunteers ensure its "profits" are happy, healthy kids playing a sport they can enjoy for life.

There is special training that helps parents who may have little or no soccer experience quickly gain the age-appropriate knowledge and skills they need to be effective coaches and referees. It also has unique administrative and management training. This ensures that each community program:

  • Abides by the AYSO philosophies
  • Offers a great AYSO experience
  • Continues to grow, offering the AYSO opportunity to more children
Our Board is always looking for leaders! If you're not able to commit even that much time, there are many small jobs you can help with. Even a couple of hours each season are an important contribution to your team and Region 6! Contact the Regional Commissioner for more information!

#SPSOCCERSQUAD

Wanna be a part of the squad?
The SP Soccer Squad is for those volunteers that would like to help us on the field when they are available. It could be pumping up balls, taking down goals, shagging balls, loading the equipment. It could also be a job that is a little more, like team parent. Either way, you are helping the kids and the Region! We are a volunteer lead organization and it takes a village. We love volunteers and hope that you can help us run a successful soccer program.
Interested?? Contact Regional Commissioner, Nicole Padilla at [email protected]

Safe Haven

AYSO’s Safe Haven: Keeping AYSO Players and Volunteers Safe

We take the safety of our athletes seriously. Precautions are taken on the field to prevent physical injuries, and precautions are taken off the field to ensure children and volunteers are safe in their interactions with each other.   AYSO’s Safe Haven program has been put in place to protect AYSO players and the volunteers who serve them. It requires that each AYSO volunteer complete and eSign a volunteer application each and every year, agreeing to background checks and to abide by the philosophies and policies of AYSO.

Every AYSO volunteer must apply and be accepted as a volunteer. Volunteers are also asked to complete Safe Haven and job specific training in order to become trained and certified. AYSO in-person or online training focuses on the best ways to work with children and important safety protocols. Becoming Safe Haven certified takes some time, but AYSO volunteers know it’s worth it.
